Last week's assignment was to photograph a man who is counseling Adullahi Yusuf, a young, would-be "terrorist" for ISIS. The US Government detained Yusuf before he could join up with ISIS, and has placed him into a "de-radicalization program" with hopes that he can once again be a peacful, happy American citizen.

My subject, Ahmed, was once himself a young immigrant to the US with all the same prejudices, fears and struggles. He's perfectly suited to understanding and possibly helping the young Yusuf find a more sensible path to expressing his feelings.
